URBAN PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE STRUCTURE

Complete structural steel fabrication for a 40-metre pedestrian bridge with curved feature elements.

Industry:Infrastructure
Melbourne, VIC
September 2024

The Challenge

A new pedestrian bridge connecting two urban precincts required structural steel fabrication with architectural curved elements. The 40-metre span needed to be fabricated in sections for transport while ensuring precise fit-up on site. Curved handrail sections added complexity to the project.

Our Solution

Our engineering team worked closely with the structural designers to optimize fabrication approach. Sections were designed for efficient transport and rapid site assembly. The curved handrails were rolled in-house to precise radii, with welded connections engineered for strength and appearance. Hot-dip galvanizing was coordinated for long-term durability.
